What it does

By default, macOS forces your Mac to sleep the moment you close the lid without an external display attached — so you can't carry it around while work keeps running.

Runs on battery alone. For long or heavy jobs we recommend plugging in, since high load with the lid closed drains the battery quickly.
Mind the heat. A closed lid traps heat. Use it on a hard, well-ventilated surface — not on a blanket or cushion.
An administrator password is required only on the first install (to change the system sleep setting).
